Beer ketchup

Goes well with: burgers, fries, hot dogs, brats, smoked sausage.

Ingredients

6 ounces tomato paste
1⁄2 cup beer
2 tablespoons vinegar (apple cider vinegar)
1⁄4 teaspoon mustard (dry mustard)
  salt (to taste)
1 pinch clove (ground)
1 pinch allspice (ground)
1 pinch nutmeg (ground or fresly grated)
1 pinch cayenne pepper (ground)
1 pinch garlic (garlic flakes, or ground)
2 tablespoons agave syrup

Instructions

  1. Mix together all ingredients in a medium bowl. Allow to sit for 10-15 minutes, then begin to taste for seasonings. Adjust as desired.
  2. Transfer to a glass jar and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

Alternatively, substitute 2 tablespoons agave nectar with 1/4 cup brown sugar.
