Bang bang chicken

Traditional bang bang chicken is a dish of shredded chicken julienned cucumber and a spicy sauce.

The poached chicken is often pounded with a stick (棒, bàng in chinese) which is where the name "bang bang" comes from.

Sambal oelek

Sambal oelek is a chile paste made of pounded or chopped fresh red chiles flavored with salt, a little sugar and vinegar. It´s pure chile flavor.

While it's easy to find jars of sambal oelek in grocery stores, you can also make this condiment at home.

Sesame sauce

This sauce goes well with many dishes. Made from roasted sesame seeds, it adds a rich nutty flavor to dishes like sushi, noodles, rice, cooked vegetables and salads.
