Warm chocolate sauce
Prepare this warm chocolate sauce using the traditional double boiler or the microwave oven. This second method is great when one needs to create a special dessert in minutes.
Ingredients
4 ounces chocolate (baking or cooking chocolate, broken into pieces, about 4 squares)
4 drops vanilla extract
1 tablespoon sugar
4 tablespoons cream (heavy cream, doubl cream)
1⁄2 cup water (or as needed)
Instructions
- Place chocolate, sugar and water in a saucepan or the top pan of a double boiler. Heat slowly, stirring often, until the sugar dissolves and the chocolate melts.
- Remove from the heat, add cream and vanilla essence. Keep warm.
Microwave
- Place sugar, water and chocolate in a recipient, cover and heat on medium for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add cream and vanilla essence. Leave to stand for 2 minutes.
