Teriyaki chicken

A staple of traditional Japanese cuisine provided through a homemade recipe.

Ingredients

3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons wine (sake or mirin)
2 tablespoons sugar
6 pieces chicken (chicken thighs, without skin or bones)

Instructions

Brown the chicken thighs in a pan on both sides.

Mix the other ingredients together separately.

Once the chicken in thoroughly cooked pour the marinade into the pan and continue cooking and turning until the sauce becomes thick and sticky.

To serve, cut the chicken in bite size pieces place in a serving dish and pour the teriyaki sauce in the pan over the chicken.

Notes

Substitute 6 chicken thighs with 4 chicken breast, boneless, skinless and cut into thick strips.

Serve with steamed rice and pan fried vegetables.

You can also make a chicken teriyaki burger.
