Lavender cookies

These lavender cookies use the aroma of flowers.


1 c sugar
1⁄2 c butter
1⁄2 c cream cheese
2 c flour
1⁄3 c jelly (lavender jelly)
1 egg
2 t edible flowers (dried lavender blossom)


  1. Using a mixing bowl, blend cream cheese and butter together. Add the sugar, lavender blossoms, egg and the flour.
  2. Pat dough down onto a greased jelly roll pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. Without browning the top.
  4. Spread the jelly, jam or marmalade on the warm cookie base. Cut into bars while still warm.
