Basic apple sauce
Apple sauce is simple to prepare. This particular recipe with its pinch of salt and goes very well with roasted meats, roasted pork in particular.
It is equally good with some cold meats as this apple sauce can also be served cold.

Instructions
Core and dice apples; place in saucepan, add water, salt, lemon juice and add sugar to taste.
Cook covered for about 20 minutes.Taste and add more sugar if required.
Stir to dissolve. Simmer for 1 minute more. Force through a sieve or use a food mill to puree and give it the texture and consistence of a sauce.
Add the cinnamon. Serve warm or cold.

Apples are healthy, simple to eat and natural. Connecticut has great apple orchards. A good number of those orchards open to the public and picking apples is a popular family activity in autumn. When one gets carried away, picking many more apples that it is possible to eat, there are plenty of recipes to prepare delicious dishes with those apples.
