Citrus glaze

A tangy, sweet, and zesty citrus glaze that combines fresh orange juice, lime juice and the sweetnes of sugar for a burst of vibrant flavor.

Ingredients

1⁄2 cup lime juice
1⁄2 cup orange juice
1⁄2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water

Instructions

Mix cornstarch and wanter and set aside. 

Mix lime juice, orange juice and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and incorporate the cornstarch mixture when the sugar has dissolved.

Let it boil slowly, stirring continuously, until the glaze thickens, about 4-5 minutes.

Brush the glaze over the meat and continue baking the meat until the glaze bubbles, about 5-6 minutes more.

Notes

Store leftover glaze in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Reheat gently on the stove or microwave before using.

Variations

Substitute lime juice with lemon juice for a stronger taste.

Substitute sugar with half the amount of honey for a different sweetness.
