dessert

Ideas for dessert.

Brazilian fried bananas

Brazilian cook bananas in many ways although frying them in vegetable oil or butter is the probably the most popular. The bananas can be served just the way they come out of the pan as a side dish, as you would find in Cuba, or sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar for a sweet dessert.

Brazilian corn cakes

These corn cakes don't come in one unique flavor. They have can have many variations. Substituting the grated cheese with grated coconut will produce a different flavor altogether; adding some canned corn to the dough will produce some flavor more similar to the Argentinian addictive choclos.

Dulce jamoncillo

This Mexican sweet treat is often called “Milk Fudge” because of its consistency. As with regular fudge, it can be made with or without nuts. It’s rich and creamy and simple to make, though it does take several hours to prepare. It is often found cut into medium size squares but can also be rolled into logs and sliced into candy-size pieces.

Amish peanut butter

Amish peanut butter is a spread for bread rolls. Amish peanut butter can also be purchased from several companies that specialize in Amish foods, but why buy something that is easily made at home? This does make a rather large batch. It stores well in a sealed container, but making a half batch works well too.
