Pear jam

Pear jam makes a nice spread for breakfast or snack and easy to prepare. Just follow the recipe.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons lemon juice (natural or bottled)
1 package pectin (1/2 oz package)
5 cups sugar
4 cups pear (peeled, cored and chopped)

Instructions

  1. Stir together the pears, lemon juice, and pectin into a 6 quart pot.
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat. Stir constantly. Quickly add the sugar. Bring to a rolling boil and boil hard for 1 minute, stir constantly.
  3. Remove from heat skip foam off top.
  4. Can or allow cooling before using.
