Basic savory batter

Savory coating batter is similar to pancake batter, but thicker, with less liquid. Use this batter to coat fish, meat, poultry and vegetables.

Ingredients

1⁄4 pound flour (plain or self-raising)
1⁄4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon butter (melted)
1⁄2 cup milk

Instructions

Sift flour and salt into a bowl. It will incorporate air into the flour and the batter will be lighter.
