Quick homemade sloppy Joe sandwich

This sloppy Joe recipe uses ketchup, not tomato sauce, and it is the quickest one to prepare. So quick and easy, once you try this one you will wonder how you ever bought the sauce ready made before.

Ingredients

1 cup onion (finely chopped)
1⁄2 cup bell pepper (chopped)
1⁄2 cup mushroom (optional)
2 tablespoons butter
1 1⁄2 pounds beef (lean meat, ground or minced)
2 tablespoons tomato ketchup (or up to 4 tablespoons)
  salt (to taste)
  pepper (to taste)

Instructions

Heat butter in a large skillet. Sauteé onion and green pepper until tender. Add the meat and cook until browned.

Drain the excess fat. Add ketchup and seasonings

Cook uncovered for 5 minutes.

Serve on your choice of bun.
