Pumpkin pie appears in many Harvest, Halloween, and Thanksgiving menus along with pumpkin cake.
Ingredients
2 c pumpkin (pumpkin puree)
2 egg
1 t salt
1 1⁄4 c brown sugar
1 cn evaporated milk
1 t cinnamon (ground)
1 t nutmeg (ground or freshly grated)
1⁄4 c butter (melted)
1 pk cream cheese (8 oz package)
1 c whipping cream (already whipped)
1⁄2 c confectioner's sugar (or powdered sugar)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well.
Pour batter into pie crust.
Bake in preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 60 minutes or until set through.
Blend all ingredients for the topping together and use to top pie.

Notes
If you feel adventurous, try other nuts and other spices. Hazelnuts, for instance, go well with pumkin. Cardamom, the kind used for desserts, could make an interesting addition.
