Home made chocolate frosting is so much better than store bought in a can. Here’s a basic recipe you can make using ingredients you probably already have on hand.
Combine butter and cocoa in a large bowl; beat until well blended.
Add the milk, vanilla and salt. Beat until smooth.
Gradually beat in the confectioner’s sugar until smooth and creamy. Add more milk if you desire a thinner consistency.
Add other condiments and flavorings. What about tangerine, orange, or coconut flavored chocolate frosting?
A white chocolate frosting should be prepared with melted white chocolate and melted butter.
