Alehouse steak marinade

Prepared as instructed, this alehouse steak marinade will render enough to marinate 2 to 2 1/2 pounds of beef.

Ingredients

1 cup ale (or beer)
1⁄2 cup broth (beef broth or beef stock)
1⁄2 cup tomato sauce (spicy)
1⁄2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
2 leaves bay leaf (broken in half)
1 teaspoon oregano (dried, or 1 Tbs fresh)
1 teaspoon thyme (dried, or 1 Tbs fresh)

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a bowl.

Place meat of choice in shallow dish or pie plate and add marinade, turning to coat.

Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight, turning occasionally.

Notes

Meat and marinade also may be placed in a heavy-duty sealable plastic bag and refrigerated.
