Red chrain
Chrain, also known as beet horseradish, is a popular sauce in Jewish cooking. It is dairy free and can be served with meat or fish. It goes well with smoked fish.
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix grated horseradish, beet, vinegar, salt and sugar.
- Stand for 1 hour before serving.

Notes
Prepared horseradish can also be used - omit the vinegar.
For a milder flavor, add 2 tablespoons yogurt - it would not go with meat dishes.
