Notes

As delicious as it is, a cheese steak is not low in fat. Make it lighter by choosing an extra lean cut of meat, low fat cheese and being generous with the peppers and onions.

Mix red, yellow, orange and green bell peppers for variety and color appeal.

Add other ingredients such as sliced mushrooms, cooked with the onions and peppers, or a splash of tomato sauce when you spoon the cheese steak onto the bread.
