Green beans with sesame dressing

Green beans with Oriental flavor.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon tamari (or soy sauce)
1 teaspoon sugar
3 cups green beans (washed, ends trimmed and cut into 2 inch pieces)
4 tablespoons sesame seed (toasted)

Instructions

  1. Cook green beans in salted boling water until tender, about 10-15 minutes.
  2. While green beans are cooking, toast sesame seeds until light golden.
  3. Grind the toasted sesame seeds to a paste. Mix in soy sauce and sugar.
  4. Remove liquid from the beans, cool under cold running water, and drain.
  5. Place cooked beans in a bowl and mix with the dressing. Serve.

Notes

Toast sesame seeds in a dry skillet, for about 2-5 minutes. Toss and stir frequently to prevent burning.

If the dressing is too thick, thin with a little water or a clear broth such as dashi.
