Not only chutney makes a wonderful food gift and it is also handy to have at home.
- Combine all the ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer until mixture thickens, about 1 1/2 hours.
- Remove chillies. Ladle into hot, sterilized jars. Process in a hot water bath for 10 minutes.
Try this chutney over a melted cheese sandwich or as a side to roast pork.
Decorate chutney jar with a bow, if giving as a present, or wrap in home decorated paper.
